A funeral for Emmet Robert Conklin, 84, a Carson City resident for the past 21 years, will be at 9 a.m. Friday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.
Mr. Conklin died Oct. 4, 2004, at Tahoe Pacific Hospital in Reno.
He was born March 3, 1920, in South Pasadena, Calif., to Emmet Robert Sr. and Nellie Webber Conklin. Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Southern California.
Mr. Conklin was a machinist for Freightliner Trucking for many years.
He was an avid fan and follower of David John and the Comstock Cowboys. Music was a passion. He was an amateur radio operator and held a general-class license.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Edna Mae Stevenson.
Among his survivors are his wife, June of Carson City; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Jeanne of Venice, Calif.; daughters and sons-in-law Linda and Bill Fowler of Corona, Calif., and Rosalind and Paul Andrews and daughter, Rebecca Conklin of Portland, Ore.; stepchildren and spouses Patricia and Delbert Naylor of Colton, Ore., Debbie and Ron Raef of Vancouver, Wash., Judy and Patrick Cox, Al and Candy Kramer and Dona and Bob Tuttle of Carson City, and Barbara and Wayne Testolin of Elko; 19 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at 11 a.m. in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, Calif.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
