Nevada's Quail seasons opened last Saturday

Here are the 2004-2005 rules and regulations for the hunting of California, Gambel's, Scaled and Mountain Quail:

• The 2004-2005 Nevada quail hunting season opened on Oct. 9 in Carson City, Churchill, Clark, Douglas, Esmeralda, Humboldt, Lincoln, Lyon, Mineral, Nye, Pershing (except for fences and cultivated lands of Lovelock Valley), Storey and Washoe Counties.

This season will close Jan. 31.

There is a daily limit of 10 quail and a possession limit of 20.

The shooting hours are from sunrise to sunset.

Open to non-residents.

• The 2004-2005 Nevada quail hunting season also opened on Oct. 9 in Elko, Eureka, Lander and White Pine Counties.

This season will close Jan. 31.

There is a daily limit of 5 quail and a possession limit of 10.

The shooting hours are from sunrise to sunset.

Open to non-residents.

• The 2004-2005 Nevada quail hunting season opens on Nov. 6 in the fenced and cultivated areas of Lovelock Valley in Pershing County.

This season will close Jan. 31.

There is a daily limit of 10 and a possession limit of 20.

The shooting hours are from sunrise to sunset.

Open to non-residents.

Special Note: Limits can not include more than two mountain quail daily or four in possession.
