Q&D Construction of Sparks has broken ground on Winkel's new Hummer dealership located between the existing Winkel GMC/Pontiac dealership and the Saturn dealership along Kietzke Lane in Reno.
Completion is set for mid-March.
The design-build project with Don Mackey Architects is based on a dealership prototype and features a 6,400-square-foot quonset hut, exposed steel and a corrugated metal roof.
The interior will have a scored and sealed concrete slab, an open ceiling with exposed duct work, and two large fans.
The fans will be 14 feet in diameter and move up to 334,000 cubic feet of air per minute, giving the feeling of a helicopter.
