A celebration of life for Robert Thomas Dobbs, 71, a Carson City/Gardnerville resident for the past month, will be at 11 a.m. Nov. 6 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Virginia City.
Mr. Dobbs died Oct. 15, 2004, at Mountain Springs Assisted Living. He was born Nov. 13, 1932, in Idaho to Cecil and Lillian Bennett Dobbs.
Before moving to the area, he lived in Las Vegas.
Mr. Dobbs was a heavy-equipment operator and retired from Operating Engineers Union Local 12. He enjoyed gambling.
He was preceded in death by his brother Lloyd; and sister Hazel Manning.
Among his survivors are his sons and daughters-in-law Thomas and Stacey Dobbs and Daniel and Ruby Post, all of Gardnerville; brothers Virgil of Los Angeles and Jay of Boron, Calif.; sister Shirley Finley of Boron; and three grandchildren.
Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
