Patrick Kaler of Champaign, Ill., has been appointed executive director of the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority.
Kaler, who has been working on a master's degree, previously worked as executive director of Great Lakes of North America, regional tourism marketing organization.
representing seven states and one Canadian province.
From 1996 to 1998, Kaler worked as general manager of Keeshin Destination Chicago, a full-service destination management company for international and domestic destinations.
He has also has worked for two convention and visitors bureaus in Illinois.
