What's closed for Labor Day holiday

Most city, state and federal offices will be closed Monday in observance of Labor Day.

No mail will be delivered, and all postal branches will be closed. The Carson City Library will be closed.

Voter registration and the Carson City Marriage Bureau will be open from 9 to 4:30 p.m.

Garbage collection from Capital Sanitation will be on its normal schedule Monday. The only holidays that affect its scheduling are Christmas and New Year's days.

The Carson City, Douglas County, Virginia City, Dayton, Silver Springs, Yerington and Fernley senior centers will be closed.

Most banks will be closed.

The front counter of the Carson City Sheriff's Department will be closed, and there will be no visitation at the Carson City Jail.

The Nevada State Museum at 600 N. Carson St. and the Nevada State Railroad Museum, 2180 S. Carson St., will be open. The trains will run from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the railroad museum.

The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada at 813 N. Carson St. is always closed on Mondays, but it will be open Saturday and Sunday.

The Nevada Appeal's office will be closed Monday, but the newspaper will be delivered that morning.
