George Donald Smith, 79, a Reno resident for the past three months and former long-time Carson City resident, died Sept. 19, 2004, in Reno. He was born Dec. 7, 1924, in Van Meter, Iowa, to George and Rosa Moore Smith.
Mr. Smith worked at Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. for 33 years and was a slot technician for Bally's and MGM casinos in Reno for 10 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy in 1994 and son Gary in 1983.
Among his survivors are his son and daughter-in-law Gregory and Lisa Smith and granddaughter, Ashley C. Smith, all of Markleeville, Calif.
At his request, there will be no service.
Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Cypress Mausoleum in Cypress, Calif..
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
