A Northern Nevada resident for more than 20 years, Trainor has been active in the Libertarian Party since 1988. He is currently the state chair.
He is a member of the American Media Association. He is a Silver ATM Toastmaster. He has a Nevada real estate license. Trainor has served on the Sparks Charter Committee, and the Sparks Citizen Advisory Board, and Sparks and Washoe County ballot question committees. He is currently a quality manager for a major airline.
