Temporary memorial walls in honor and memory of Pope John Paul II are up at FitzHenry's Funeral Home of Carson City and Gardnerville for people to sign their names, leave messages, and bring flowers, photos, candles, memorabilia and drawings.
"People need a place to go to express their sense of loss - whether with quiet reflection or waves of emotion," said Jim Smolenski, general manager of FitzHenry's Funeral Homes.
"By erecting this memorial, we hope to provide such a place for the people of Carson City and Gardnerville and surrounding communities that mourn the loss of the pope."
Through the Web site, www.keymemories.com a link is provided to a page where messages can be sent to the Vatican.
