David Jason Sieben

David Jason Sieben, 24, died April 14, 2005, in Genoa.

He was born October 21, 1980, in Carson City, where he grew up. He attended Fritsch Elementary School, Carson Middle School and Carson High School. He also played Little League baseball in Carson City.

He attended the University of Nevada, Reno for one year and was a member of the Young Republicans. Mr. Sieben received his real estate license at age 19. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2002 and graduated from boot camp at Fort Leonard Wood in St. Louis, Mo., and was assigned to the Engineers Battalion at Fort Riley, Kan.

He served his tour of duty in Iraq for 14 months, in which his base station performed and was released from the Army in 2004. Upon his return, he attended Western Nevada Community College to achieve a degree in order to open his own real estate brokerage firm.

While on leave from the military, he spent time with children from both St. Teresa's School and Jacks Valley Elementary, talking to them about the people of Iraq.

His goal was to own a real estate agency and to be involved in politics someday.

He is survived by his father, John F. Sieben Jr. of Genoa; mother, Deborah Thomas of Minden; brothers, Jonathon Earl Sieben of Reno and Christopher Jay Sieben of Carson City; grandparents, John F. and Irene Sieben of Carson City and Norm and Maryann Thomas of Minden.

Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Carson City. Internment will follow in Genoa Cemetery.
