Zak Gilbert has been named business development manager for the Economic Development Authority ofWestern Nevada.
Gilbert will recruit new companies to the region.
Prior to joining EDAWN, Gilbert held business analyst positions at Newell- Rubbermaid (including a stint in Sao Paulo, Brazil); Qualcomm, Inc., and Coca- Cola Co.
Gilbert is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
He holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of South Carolina and a master's degree in international business.He has served on the board of the Advertising Association of Northern Nevada and is a member of the Downtown Improvement Association.
