A wildfire burning since Friday on U.S. Forest Service land along Highway 395 in California was 80 percent contained at 4 p.m. Saturday, with full containment expected Sunday.
The Pickle Hill fire, which authorities suspect started with a lightning strike, had burned 40 acres at the Sonora junction of Highway 395 by Saturday afternoon.
Two hand crews, two helicopters and three brush engines from the U.S. Marine Corp, Bureau of Land Management and Nevada Division of Forestry have been working on the blaze since about 3 p.m. Friday.
The Sonora Bridge Campground is located nearby but the Pickle Hill fire has raised no serious public safety issues, according to the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch Center.
Firefighters anticipate no problems containing the fire.
