Grant to fund Lyon traffic enforcement

Grant money will pay for extra traffic enforcement in Lyon County, according to Capt. Allen Veil.

"As a result, the Lyon County Sheriff's Office will be able to assign deputies to conduct traffic enforcement on overtime in areas of the county that have been identified as needing extra traffic enforcement," Veil said. Those areas are: Dayton, Mound House, Silver City, Mark Twain, Stagecoach, Silver Springs, Fernley, Yerington, Mason, Smith and Wellington.

"With the beginning of the new school year, enforcement will be concentrated on school zones and residential areas, especially during hours when children are present," he said.
