Recruitment focus of Directions 2006

Recruiting the workforce of the future will be the focus of the 14th Annual Directions 2006 co-sponsored by the Economic Development Authority ofWestern Nevada and the Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce.

The event will run from 7 a.m.

to noon at the Reno Hilton followed by a question-andanswer session with the speakers from noon to 2:30 p.m.

for an additional fee.

Keynoting the forum will Rebecca Ryan, founder of Next Generation Consulting, which has conducted interviews and focus groups with more than 6,500 young professionals to track their career and migration trends.

Ryan's keynote will discuss ways for Northern Nevada companies to hire and promote young talent.

Other speakers will include Jim Rogers, chancellor of the Nevada System of Higher Education; a panel led by Mike Reed, dean of the business school at the University of Nevada, Reno, and including Alex Krell of Pulte Homes; Craig Nassi of BCN Development; Bob Pace of Grand Sierra Resort Co.; David Silverstein of Bayer Properties; and Perry Satterlee, president of Clearwire Communications.

Stephanie Digeon-Heath,market research manager at the Reno Gazette-Journal,will present a market trends report.An update on a survey of the region's business outlook will be presented by Valerie Glenn, president and CEO of the Rose/Glenn Group and Sara Hart, director of research at InfoSearch International.
