TRI freeway interchange nearly ready for bidding

An Interstate 80 interchange at Tahoe Reno Industrial Center east of Spark is likely to go to bid in early February.

Reno Engineering has submitted plans to the Nevada Division of Transportation for the proposed interchange, which will connect I-80 with the four-lane USA Parkway expressway within the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center.

Eventually the USA Parkway will run through the industrial center and connect I-80 with Highway 50.

The project also includes a span across the Truckee River.

F&P Construction of Reno has already completed some of the preliminary work for that bridge.

The entire venture is expected to cost about $13 million.
