Murder suspect Maximilliano Cisneros could be back in Carson City as early as next week, Sgt. Bob White said Thursday.

"Once he's arraigned in Los Angeles on a charge there, he could waive extradition and we could go get him Monday," White said.

Cisneros, 23, is charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder in a May 24 shooting on Eighth Street in which Juan Carlos Alegria, 23, was killed and Fidel Fuentes, 22, was injured.

Mexican police, with the assistance of federal United States agents armed with a warrant, arrested Cisneros near his grandmother's home in the central Pacific city of Guadalajara on Wednesday morning. He was taken to Los Angeles and booked into the jail there about 5 p.m.

"Mr. Cisneros was located in Mexico based on information the Carson City Sheriff's Office received from individuals who helped him flee the country," White said.

White said Cisneros is being held without bail on the Carson City warrant and also had a California warrant for an unknown charge.

Victor Rodriguez, also known as Steve Contreras, was charged with accessory to murder for allegedly helping Cisneros flee. During a December hearing both sides plea negotiations were in the works.

A June 25 a search of a storage unit rented in Rodriquez's alias netted a cache of weapons and methamphetamine and led to the arrest of Saul Cisneros, 21, Maximilliano Cisneros' brother.

Saul Cisneros pleaded guilty Oct. 18 to conspiracy to traffic drugs and was given a suspended sentence of 12 to 30 months. When he failed to report to parole and probation following his release from the Carson City Jail a warrant was issued and he was arrested in Los Angeles. He is now serving the 12- to 30-month sentence in the Nevada State Prison.
