James Thomas Purviance

James Thomas Purviance, 89, of Carson City died Feb. 3, 2005, at his residence.

He lived in Carson City for the last 12 years coming from Oroville, Calif., where he'd lived for 14 years.

Mr. Purviance was born July 16, 1915, to Albert and Augusta Richardson Purviance in Bryant, Okla.

He married Elizabeth April 14, 1988, in Reno.

Mr. Purviance was an installation supervisor for the U.S. Government. He served the Marine Corps and U.S. Army Air Corps.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Alpha Purviance.

He is survived by his wife of Carson City; daughters Evalie Ann Severe of Anchorage, Alaska and Lenina Kay Warran of Everett, Wash.; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service for the family will be held at a later date.

Donations can be made to St. Mary's Hospice.

Capitol City Cremation and Burial Society is in charge of the arrangements.
