Jim Newell, 78, a lifetime Yerington resident, died Feb. 13, 2005, in Yerington.
He was born Sept. 6, 1926, in Mason to Oscar C. and Amy Faye Newell.
He graduated from Yerington High School.
He married Dody Ann Balaam Oct. 1, 1949, in Las Vegas.
Mr. Newell was owner of an auto dealership. He was a member of the Yerington 20/30 Club, Yerington Lions Club and the Yerington Volunteer Fire Department.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Among his survivors are his wife, son Dan, daughter Nikki Bryan and sister Pat Mackey, all of Yerington; brothers Herb of Reno and George of Florida; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
No service will be held.
Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
