Lenora 'Ellen' Hanners

Lenora "Ellen" Hanners, 70, died Feb. 15, 2005, in Carson City.

She grew up in Casey, Ill., graduated from Casey High School and attended Lakeland Community College.

Ms. Hanners was executive assistant of the Retired Public Employees of Nevada in Carson City for the past 10 years. She previously worked at the Nevada State Legislature and as a registrar at Rite of Passage in Minden. Before moving to Nevada, she worked at Eastern Illinois University and in manufacturing.

She enjoyed Nevada's lifestyle, reading, family activities and her work.

Among her survivors are her sister, Freida Hanners and brother, Deon Hanners of Casey, Ill.; sister and brother-in-law Donna and John Alexander of Dayton; niece and husband, Anne and Thor Zoellner and great-niece Alexandra Zoellner, all of Carson City; nephew and wife Charles and Maria Alexander and son J.R., all of Dayton and several other nieces and nephews.
