Earl E. Elliott

Earl E. Elliott, 75, died Jan. 17, 2005, in Sonoma, Calif., after a long battle with cancer. He was born Dec. 29, 1929, in Oakland, Calif., to Elmer Earl and Doris Hughes Elliott.

He spent his early years in Walnut Creek and Oakland, graduating from Mount Diablo High School in Concord, Calif. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Oregon and he held a graduate degree in clinical social work from the University of Chicago School of Social Administration.

Mr. Elliott worked for more than 40 years as a clinical social worker in Chicago and Carson City in private practice and in clinics and agencies. He was active in the International Transactional Analysis Association and a Hospice social worker in Nevada. For the last six years, he worked for the R-House (youth residential treatment center) in Santa Rosa, Calif. He loved to swim, hike, pilot small airplanes and he was an avid reader.

He served in the U.S. Army at Ft. Bliss, Texas.

Among his survivors are his children Lynn and Tom Anderson of Naperville, Ill., Brent and Sheryl Elliott of Portland, Ore., Ed Elliott of Burlingame, Calif., Jennifer and Jason Curl of Lodi, Calif., and Meagan Elliott of Santa Barbara, Calif.; five grandchildren; longtime friend Joan Pickering of Sonoma and former wives Jan Elliott of Ashland, Ore., and Patricia Elliott of Carson City.

A celebration of life will be at a later date.
