Beverly Rae Westphal, 78, a Washoe Valley resident for the past 14 years, died June 3, 2005, at her home. She was born Feb. 5, 1927, in Oak Grove, Mo., to John L. and Vivian R. Middleton Crane.
She was a nanny to several families, most recently Bill and Leann Welch.
Among her survivors are children Sydni LaJoie of Portland, Ore., Paul Fleischmann of Cape Cod, Mass., David Fleischmann of Fremont, Calif., and Kris Martin of Washoe Valley; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
At her request, a private celebration of life will be held.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory. FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
