Charter names teacher of year

Silver State Charter School's first ever teacher of the year is Gail Rowe.

She attended the University of Nevada, Reno, and received a master's degree in English.

She has been a teacher for the past 15 years and taught at Carson High School, where she was known as Gail Snelling.

She has also taught at University of Nevada, Reno and part-time at Western Nevada Community College.

She has lived in Carson City for 30 years and is married with two daughters, both of whom are teachers, and one son.

"I am very pleased with Mrs. Gail Rowe's outstanding performance as a teacher, in our school's first year," said Silver State Charter High School principal Steve Knight.

"She has exceeded all expectations, and I am so proud to have her as a staff member and our first teacher of the year at this school."
