Kathleen Ellen Preator Carter

A funeral for Kathleen Ellen Preator Carter, 81, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Holladay-Brown Funeral Home, 66 South 300 East, Santaquin, Utah. Friends may call one-half hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Carter died June 6, 2005, in Chandler, Ariz. She was born Sept. 9, 1923, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Frederick and Adah Preator.

She was raised in Logan, Utah, where she attended school and graduated from Logan High School in 1940.

She graduated from the nursing program at Weber State College and later received her master's degree in nursing from Boise State.

She married Jack Darrell Carter Jan. 3, 1941. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Carter worked many years in the nursing profession. When living out of the country, she volunteered in local hospitals. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Among her survivors are her children and spouses Margay Carter-Davies and husband Keith Davies of Chandler, Ariz., Bruce F. and Kathy Carter of West Jordan, Utah; daughter Celia Nase of Carson City; eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at the Santaquin Cemetery.
