Katherine G. Gillespie

A memorial service for Katherine G. Gillespie, 82, a Carson City resident for 20 years, will be at 1 p.m. July 9 at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Ms. Gillespie died June 8, 2005, in Carson City. She was born May 14, 1923, in Bloomington, Minn., to Donald E. and Elsie I. Ingham Bauby.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Southern California for 45 years.

She was a secretary for Rocketdyne/Northern American Aviation and was a seaman first class in the U.S. Coast Guard Women's Reserve.

She enjoyed traveling, reading, working puzzles, gambling and had many friends in different states.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Donald and Robert Bauby and sister, Iris Fink.

Among her survivors are niece Sandra Lee Bauby of Hesperia, Calif., and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

She was buried at Lone Mountain Cemetery.

Capitol City Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
