Billy Keith Hyde, 75, a Carson City resident for the past eight years, died March 8, 2005, in Reno. He was born July 10, 1929, in Liberal, Kan., to William Paul and Ann Lyden Hyde.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Wichita Falls, Texas.
He married Willie Bell Tucker.
Mr. Hyde was a harbor pilot in different ports throughout the world for many years. He was a past member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a 32nd-degree Mason.
He retired from the U.S. Navy as a chief boatswain mate after 30 years of service.
Among his survivors are his wife; son, Paul Keith of Lake Tahoe; daughter, Barbara Ann Garner of Lemoore, Calif.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be at a later date.
