Kidnapping victim dropped off in town

A woman kidnapped from her work in Sacramento was dropped off in Truckee after midnight on Thursday after her captor drove her around for six hours, according to a Truckee police report.

Officers picked the woman up at the intersection of Deerfield Drive and Coldstream, near the Chevron gas station, after she called police for help. The only injury she had was a sprained ankle, police said.

Police say the woman was forced into the back seat of a 1996 green Chrysler Cirrus at her workplace after the man confronted her. No motive has been established for the kidnapping.

The suspect in the kidnapping is believed to be black or dark Hispanic, over six feet tall, with a large build. He was wearing a gray sweater and a beanie at the time of the kidnapping.

The vehicle he was driving was last seen driving eastbound on Interstate 80. Sacramento police will be investigating the crime, since it originated in Sacramento.
