A service for John L. Chandler, 69, a Yerington resident for the past 51 years, will be at 2 p.m. today at Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home in Yerington.
Mr. Chandler died March 15, 2005, in Reno.
He was born July 26, 1935, in Dryden, Texas, to Andrew and Winnie Allen Chandler.
He married Billie Driskel April 22, 1967, in Reno.
Mr. Chandler was a welder and a supervisor. He served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Among his survivors are his wife; stepchildren Nancy Hedlund, Waleta Farias and Chris Curry; sister, Jean Rodman; brothers Jackson, Danny and Lloyd; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.
Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
