Robert J. Conroy, 87, a Carson City resident, died March 23, 2005, at his home.
He was born Sept. 21, 1917, in Medford, Ore., to Dr. Robert Sr. and Helen Summerhaze Conroy.
He married Mildred Garman.
Mr. Conroy was a sales manager for Valley View Packing Co. in San Jose, Calif., for 25 years before retiring to Carson City in 1989. He was an avid golfer and served as a marshal at Eagle Valley Golf Course. He enjoyed telling stories of his travels with his dad, a heart surgeon in Medford, and spending time with his grandson.
Among his survivors are his wife of 57 years; son, Steve; daughter, Melissa Hernandez; son-in-law, Jim Hernandez; grandson, Joe of Carson City; and sisters Catherine Ferguson of Mercer Island, Wash., and Ann Hamilton of Medford.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Hospice of Northern Nevada.
A private service will be at a later date.
