Michael Leo Eckstein, 76, a Yerington resident, died March 22, 2005, at his home in Yerington. He was born Sept. 29, 1928, in Oakland, Calif., to Leo Francis and Anna Mae Eckstein.
He graduated from Santa Clara College and Golden Gate Law School. He married Clemencia "Clem" Eckstein.
Mr. Eckstein was a civil engineer. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Yerington.
He served as a major in the U.S. Army Reserve.
Among his survivors are his wife of Yerington; sons Bruce of Cupertino, Calif., and Steven of Las Vegas; brother, Jack of Roswell, N.M.; grandson, Sean Gerhard Eckstein; and aunt, Loretta Hobday of Connecticut.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, 37 N. West St., Yerington, NV 89447 for the high school youth group Mexico mission trip.
A service was held.
Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
