Billie J. Watson

A funeral for Billie J. Watson, 80, a Gardnerville resident for the past seven years, will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville.

Mrs. Watson died April 27, 2005, at Washoe Medical Center. She was born Sept. 28, 1924, in Sacramento to Albert and Ina B. Burgess Burley.

She married Stan E. Watson Nov. 20, 1948, in Sacramento.

Before moving to Gardnerville, she lived in Sacramento.

Mrs. Watson was a secretary for the San Juan Unified School District in Sacramento for 24 years, retiring in 1987.

She enjoyed traveling, square dancing, skiing and her friends at the Carson Valley Inn. She was a member of St. Gall Women's Society, the Douglas County Republican Women's Association and the International Footprinters Association of Douglas County.

Among her survivors are her husband of Gardnerville; daughters Carolyn A. Harasin of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Denice C. Watson of Clackamas, Ore.; grandchildren Mark, Christiene and Jason; and great-grandchildren Andrea, Darian and Rhiana.

Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Sacramento.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
