Vesta Rae Burt

A funeral for Vesta Rae Burt, 64, a Carson City resident for the past 35 years, will be at noon Friday at the LDS Stake Center, 411 N. Saliman Road.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Walton's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Burt died May 3, 2005, in Carson City.

She was born June 6, 1940, in Cedar City, Utah, to William Austin and Rosella Dorrity Barton.

She married James C. Burt on Nov. 23, 1963, in the St. George, Utah, LDS Temple.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Cedar City.

She attended Paragonah (Utah) Elementary School through eighth grade, and graduated from Parowan (Utah) High School in 1958 and from Salt Lake Area Vocational School in 1959, where she received secretarial training.

Mrs. Burt was a secretary for four years and a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and active in Relief Society and Primary.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1966, mother in 2001, brother Mark in 1947 and sister Dorothy Diel in 1981.

Among her survivors are her husband of Carson City; son and daughter-in-law J. Carlyle and Susann Burt and daughter and son-in-law Koral Lynn and Shawn Reid, all of Spanish Fork, Utah; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Austin and Anne Burt of Provo, Utah; sisters Larue Mitchell of Yerington, Rose Ann Mickelson of Winnemucca and Kathleen Orton of West Valley City, Utah; brothers Hanks Barton of Kileen, Texas, William of Parowan and J. Lynn of Deary, Idaho; and seven grandchildren.

Burial will be Monday in the Parowan City Cemetery.
