Paul Elsworth Yenter

A celebration of life for Paul Elsworth Yenter, 50, of Sparks will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church of Carson City, 306 W. Musser St.

Mr. Yenter died May 4, 2005, at home after a lengthy illness. He was born into an Army family and, as a youth, lived in a number of places around the United States and in Europe.

He graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1979, and was an active member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.

Mr. Yenter worked for Southern Wine and Spirits for 18 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed skiing, hiking, camping and cycling.

Among his survivors are his son, Brandon of Sparks; daughter, Rachel of Pilot Hill, Calif.; father, Kenneth Yenter of San Diego, Calif.; mother, Dorothy Berger Yenter and brother Brad, both of Carson City; brother Mark, currently deployed in Iraq; sister, Jane Fitzgerald of Shape, Belgium; close friend Carol Woods; and his co-workers at Southern Wine and Spirits.

Memorial contributions may be made to Kappa Lambda Education Foundation (Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity) or a nonprofit organization of choice.

Walton Sparks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
