Christian education graduate classes start Wednesday

Carson Valley Christian Center in Minden will offer courses leading to a master of ministry degree in partnership with Simpson Graduate School of Ministry, beginning Wednesday.

The program is for adults seeking deeper study and for those whose career includes working at a church.

"Many adults would love to get a master's degree, but for various reasons they are unable or unwilling to move out of the area," said Steve Wilson, an associate pastor at the center who oversees the program.

"A few times a year, students can take a few days off from work and take a 40-hour course in an intensive format starting on a Wednesday evening and ending Sunday evening," Wilson added.

This degree program consists of 36 units of graduate instruction in Bible/theology, ministry and leadership.

The program is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

The first course will be "New Testament Studies," taught by Dr. Jackson Painter, associate professor of New Testament at Simpson University.

It will be Wednesday through Sept. 18 at the church. Additional courses will be offered in January and May.
