A celebration of life for Martin George Haake, 53, a Gardnerville resident, will be at 11 a.m. June 4 at Heritage Park in Gardnerville.
Mr. Haake died May 14, 2005, at Washoe Medical Center. He was born May 20, 1952, in Waukegan, Ill.
He spent his early years in Grayslake, Ill., and attended Southern Illinois University.
Mr. Haake owned Martin Haake Backhoe Co. He enjoyed nature and the outdoors. He read newspapers and was devoted to the Cubs. He enjoyed spending time with his dog, Ziggy.
He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Michael.
Among his survivors are his wife, Ellen; mother; sister, Susan; nephew, Erik; and niece, Kelly.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
