Rachel E. Strang

A funeral for Rachel E. Strang, 43, a Carson City resident for the past 11 years, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville. Burial will follow a Esst Memorial Park in Minden.

Ms. Strang died Nov. 12, 2005, at Washoe Medical Center in Reno. She was born Oct. 8, 1962 in Pacoima, Calif., to Walter and Maria Mensing Strang.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Southern California.

She graduated from Western Nevada Community College with degrees in computer information programming and computer information applications.

She worked for the state of Nevada for the past 11 years, being employed for Public Employees Retirement System, the Department of Transportation and the Department of Information Technology.

Among her survivors are son Tony Holt of Reno; daughter Natasha Holt of Indian Hills; parents of Canyon Country, Calif., and sisters Beverly Hartman of Burbank, Calif., Christine Smith of Carson City, Sheryll Thirkettle of Arleta, Calif., Wannita Graham of Saugus, Calif., Carol Spicer of Carmichael, Calif. and Janette Phillipps of Burbank, Calif.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
