Workshop on Emotional Freedom Technique tonight

Dr. Garland Landrith will conduct an introductory workshop on Emotional Freedom Technique at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Spiritual Living Center of United Religious Science Church of Carson City. A tapping technique to release blocks by addressing the acupuncture points in the body. He will guide participants in meditation and visualization, covering how to balance the body through nutrition, meditation and other techniques.

At 10 a.m. Saturday Landrith will go into advanced techniques of using tapping to remove the blocks to growth and to help you propel forward to manifest growth and self-development.

The Friday workshop is $25, and Saturday is $45, or take both and save $10. The Spiritual Living Center of United Religious Science Church of Carson City is at 675 Fairview Drive, Suite 218, Carson City. Call the church at 882-0901 for information and reservations.

Author performs book for story time

Author and photographer, Ruth Keil Posselt, will be performing her book "Abecedarium Anomalous - Alphabet Book Irregular" for Children's Story Time at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Westside Ink - Books, Art, Pie at 710 N. Curry St., Carson City. Call 885-9777. She will be signing books until 2 p.m.

'Tellabration' offers lost art of storytelling

Thousands of people around the world will gather in small towns and big cities Saturday to enjoy the art of storytelling in the annual event known as Tellabration.

Carson City Library will join in the spirit of Tellabration with stories and hot cocoa from 2-4 p.m. Saturday.

There will be something for everyone at Tellabration. Several local storytellers are donating their time and talents to present humorous stories, folklore, heartwarming tales and more.

Senior center craft faire features raffle

Young at Heart at the Douglas County Senior Center is having a Christmas Craft Faire from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. Many homemade items from baked goods to craft items will be on sale.

Raffle tickets may be purchased and a prize will be given every hour for an individual still in the room as the raffle ticket is drawn.

Book fair is Christmas in November for a day

The Douglas County Public Library is having a Books are Fun Book Fair from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.

It's Christmas in November for one day only. Do your Christmas shopping early. Choose from hundreds of new books and gifts for yourself or the whole family.
