Alfred M. Wolfe

A service for Alfred M. Wolfe, will be at 10 a.m. today at the First Congregational Church, 627 Sunnyside Drive, in Reno.

Mr. Wolfe died Nov. 27, 2005, of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. He was born to Dr. Alfred M. Sr. and Helen Frances Wolfe.

He graduated from high school in San Luis Obispo, Calif., and attended Cal Poly University.

Mr. Wolfe worked at Harrah's Lake Tahoe for 20 years and then retired after 22 years at the Flamingo Hilton as a shift manager in Reno. He was part owner of the Flame restaurant in Reno.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1958-60 with the 4th Armor Division in Germany as a medic. He was a decorated marksman and won several titles for the division.

Among his survivors are his wife Xiaolu Qian; daughter and son-in-law Wendie and William Rains; son and daughter-in-law Christopher and Kathy Wolfe; friend Nancy Wolfe; grandchildren Kristalei and Casey Wolfe, Raymond Sanchez and Gilbert Rhoades; stepson Xiaomu (Simon) Qian; brother and sister-in-law Anthony and Susie Wolfe and numerous family members.

Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Foundation.

Truckee Meadows Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
