Doris Amelia Chrisco

A celebration of life for Doris Amelia Chrisco, 81, a Yerington resident for the past eight years, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home in Yerington.

Mrs. Chrisco died Oct. 3, 2005, at Washoe Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 22, 1924, in Oakland, Calif., to Charles and Victoria Anderson Mathison. She grew up in the California Bay area. She lived in Overton and San Leandro, Calif.

Mrs. Chrisco worked at the San Leandro, Calif., Caterpillar factory during World War II. She retired to Yerington.

She enjoyed gatherings of family and friends. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by sisters Edna and Gail and her first husband, Norman Snoreen.

Among her survivors are her husband, James; sons and daughters-in-law Larry and Marge Snoreen and Lanny and Mary Snoreen; stepdaughter Deborah Chrisco; sister and brother-in-law Viola and Richard Burris; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and many extended-family members.

Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery.

Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
