George W. Cunningham

A memorial for George W. Cunningham, 71, of Carson City will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Oak Hills Church, 1100 Blue Ravine Road, Folsom, Calif.

Mr. Cunningham died Oct. 5, 2005, in Reno. He was born April 21, 1934, in Newcastle, Penn., to Walter and Ana Pardick Cunningham.

He was married to Ana Lawson for 53 years. Mr. Cunningham graduated from Churchill County High School in Fallon in 1951. He worked for IBM for 28 years and 10 years for Kodak.

Mr. Cunningham served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Chivo.

He was a Boy Scout leader for the Golden Empire Council in Sacramento for Troop 373. He enjoyed spending time with his family and backpacking trips with his sons.

He was preceded in death by his sisters Betty Kent and Martha Sanford and brothers James and Charles Cunningham.

Among his survivors are his wife; sons and daughters-in-law Kim W. and Karen, and Kurtis and Trilby, all of Carson City, George and Linda of Elk Grove and Russell and Robyn of Folsom; brother Gene and sister-in-law Mary of Fallon; 13 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
