Harold Morton Thompson

A graveside service for Harold Morton Thompson, 85, a 26-year Gardnerville resident, will be noon Saturday at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Walton's Family Funeral Home in Minden.

Mr. Thompson died Oct. 8, 2005, at Evergreen at Mountain View in Carson City.

He was born July 29, 1920, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Morton Ozro Thompson and Elsie Bigalke Thompson.

He married Ethel May Ferris on July 13, 1940, in Ventura, Calif.

Before moving to the Fish Springs area of Gardnerville, Mr. Thompson lived in Sun Valley, Calif. He was a plumber in the San Fernando Valley, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his wife and brother Ronald Thompson.

Among his survivors are his son Jack Thompson of Chatsworth, Calif.; daughters Gloria Burns of Santa Clarita, Calif., Carol Swan and Pat Bradbury, both of Gardnerville, Peggy Zatt of Los Osos, Calif., and Mary Pond of Fresno, Calif.; four sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law; his sister Janette Kasten of Chino Valley, Ariz.; brother Ray Thompson of Canyon Country, Calif.; sisters-in-law Sharon and Dory Thompson of Canyon Country, Calif., and brother-in-law Don Kasten of Chino Valley; 22 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Arrangements are in the care of Walton's Douglas County Mortuary.
