BLM accepts sealed bids for two 100-acre parcels for sale

The Bureau of Land Management is accepting bids for two parcels designated as open space in north Douglas County, just south of the Carson City line.

Optional sealed bids will be accepted by the Carson City field office through Thursday, with an auction scheduled for Oct. 27 in Minden.

The northernmost parcel is 100 acres zoned for residential; the minimum acceptable bid is $10 million. The southern parcel is 106.25 acres, zoned for residential and commercial, and the minimum acceptable bid is $6.4 million.

Both parcels adjoin land off Highway 395, across from the Wal-Mart Supercenter, Carson Valley Plaza and Clear Creek Plaza.

Carson Valley Plaza is a 300,000-square-foot center that includes Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond, Borders, Old Navy and Petco. Home Depot, Staples, Ross and Target are also in the area.
