Mountain Comfort Furniture & Design, outgrowing a Reno location barely more than two years after it opened,will move in early December to 3445 Kietzke Lane.
The 20,140-square-foot building on Kietzke previously housed an Ethan Allen store that moved to South Virginia Street.
Christopher Smith, owner of Truckeebased Mountain Comfort, said the newly remodeled store will allow the company about 40 percent more showroom space than its previous location at 9738 S.Virginia in the South Meadows area.
The new store also will allow on-site warehousing the previous store required deliveries from an off-site warehouse and is expected to generate more consumer traffic, Smith said.
The South Meadows store opened more than two years ago, and Smith said sales strengthened substantially during the past six months.
"Furniture stores take a while to gel," he said."We've been doing good business."
The company also operates a flagship 3,000-square-foot store at Truckee.
Gary Baker, president of The Baker Company, represented Mountain Comfort Furniture & Design in its long-term lease of the building.
Ken Mattison of Grubb & Ellis/NCG in Reno represented the owner, RNE Capital LLC of Carlsbad, Calif.
