A Carson City woman who listed her occupation as a teacher was arrested Tuesday for allegedly having a methamphetamine pipe and two outstanding warrants.
Shannon Salisbury, 31, was booked into the Carson City Jail at 1:36 a.m. on suspicion of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of failure to appear on petty larceny charges.
According to Carson City and Lyon County school districts, Salisbury is not an employee in any capacity. At the jail, she listed her employer as being in Dayton. The arresting officer, Deputy Dan Ochsenschlager, said she may work in child care.
Salisbury came to the attention of authorities after a deputy spotted a car with its flashers on at 1:20 a.m. at Carson and 10th streets. Salisbury, who was found by the officer at a nearby gas station, had two misdemeanor warrants.
When Salisbury was searched at the jail, a glass pipe used for smoking methamphetamine was allegedly found in her purse.
Her bail is set at $2,026.
