Apple launches a treasury office in Reno

Apple Computers has opened an office in Reno to manage financial assets.

Braeburn Capital, Inc. will function as a regional treasury office, much like the company's offices in Cupertino, Calif.; Cork, Ireland; and Singapore, says Kristin Huguet of Apple corporate and legal affairs.

The company placed ads in local papers looking for people to run the Reno operation, says Dave Archer, executive director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology. The ads say Braeburn is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Apple Computer.

Articles of incorporation filed with the Nevada Secretary of State's Office last fall list Braeburn officers: Peter Oppenheimer, director; Peter Tomei, president; Michael Shapiro, secretary; and Gary Wipfler, treasurer. All are based in Cupertino, the headquarters of Apple.
