Unlicensed contractor jailed

Daniel Wayne Jackson was sentenced to 180 days in the Lyon County Jail after pleading guilty to a felony charge of diversion of funds and a misdemeanor charge of contracting without a license.

Jackson also was ordered to pay $19,000 in restitution to a homeowner and investigative costs to the Nevada State Contractors Board.

Prosecutors charged Jackson had contracted with a Mound House homeowner to build an addition. The homeowner made three payments totaling $19,000 on a contract of $27,000. Jackson only poured a concrete footing and then abandoned the project.
