Board disciplines five contractors

Nevada State Contractors Board has disciplined five northern Nevada contractors.

The board sanctioned Reno's Mountain Concepts, which does business as Stuart Construction; Pro Concrete of Reno; Electriserve of Sparks; Robert Arndell Excavation of Silver Springs and Marks Way Construction of Ely.

The license of Mountain Concepts was suspended for 90 days, a letter of reprimand was placed in its file at the contractors board and the company was fined $1,250.

The board said the sanctions followed a complaint of substandard workmanship, working outside the scope of the company's contractor's license and failing to respond to a request by the contractors board.

The board suspended the license of Pro Concrete, placed a letter of reprimand in its file, fined the company $500 and ordered it to pay $10,355 in restitution to a homeowner.

The board said the company's workmanship was substandard.

The license of Electriserve was revoked after it failed to get a required building permit on a job.

The company also was ordered to pay restitution to a homeowner.

Robert Arndell Excavation was fined $600 for working beyond the scope of its license.

Marks Way Construction was reprimanded for allowing contracting business to be conducted by an unlicensed individual and operating under a name that's different from the one on its contractors license.
