Tourism university comes to Virginia City

The Nevada Commission on Tourism will host the first of its 2006 Nevada Tourism University courses Feb.

7 in Virginia City.

Nevada Tourism University is a continuing education program for rural Nevada tourism officials, business owners and professionals.

The first NTU course of 2006 will be held at the Delta Saloon on Virginia City's historic C Street.

The course is free, but pre-registration is required.

State tourism managers will discuss how to find the appropriate vendor when outsourcing a job, how to diversify marketing goals and provide services to meet those goals and the "seven habits of highly successful tourism officials." Also on the schedule is a presentation on targeting Chinese visitors.
