Utility awards contracts for Tracy power plant

Sierra Pacific Power said last week it signed $328 in contracts for construction of its new 514-megawatt plant at Tracy.

CH2M Hill won the engineering and construction service contract, GE won the contract for combustion and steam turbine equipment and Nooter/Ericksen won the contract for the heat-recovery steam generator.

Construction is scheduled to begin in April.
