Alex Shelton has been hired as national convention sales manager by the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority.
Shelton previously worked in national sales at the Sands Expo at The Venetian in Las Vegas, a position he took in 2002.
Shelton received his bachelor's degree in hotel administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He has served as an adjunct professor at UNLV's hotel college, teaching hotel sales and marketing.
