Western Tool opens location in Reno

Western Tool Supply has leased 5,000 square feet at 320 S. Rock Blvd. for its first store in Reno.

The privately held company based at Salem, Ore., operates 62 locations in 13 states.

The company supplies tools as well as supplies such as abrasives and fasteners to construction, industrial and maintenance customers among others.

Bryan Bourdon, who oversees properties and facilities for Western Tool Supply, said the company was drawn to Reno by its growth.

"The place has been booming the last few years," he said.

Western Tool Supply operates a store at Sacramento, Bourdon said, and customers had asked for the opening of a location in the Reno area.

The company serves its stores in the West from a distribution center at Salem, Ore.

The Reno store will be managed by Dan Ellis.

Coldwell Banker Commercial Plummer & Associates represented Western Tool Supply in its lease negotiations with McKenzie Properties, the owner of the Rock Boulevard space.
